Mammoth Brewing Ale, Pale, India, Epic IPA

Award-winning beers since 1995. The Brew with Altitude: Hopped at two pounds per barrel, our IPA unites a smooth malt flavor, with a wonderful, aromatic finish. Welcome to Altitude: Mammoth Brewing Company is the highest elevation brewery on the west coast, at 8,000 feet above sea level. Water boils at approximately 198 degrees F up here, and consequently we brew in the kettle for longer than most other breweries. This low-temperature boil, coupled with our pristine mountain water, creates the softer flavor profile that Mammoth Brewing is known for. Our Mountains. Our Water. Our Beer. The most important ingredient in our beer is our water, and the High Sierra has some of the best in the world! Our water is pristine, remote and protected. We've been brewing since 1995 and have been winning medals - in large part - because of our alpine water and the quality ingredients we insist on using. We Package in Kegs, Bottles and Cans: In 2006, long before most other craft breweries saw the need, we chose to put some of our beers into aluminum cans as well as bottles. Why? Because Mammoth Lakes is a gateway to the backcountry, and we at Mammoth Brewing Company love to go backpacking, fishing, skiing, boating and the like. As much as we love our bottled beer, sometimes we want to take our beers where bottles just aren't as easy to pack it in, pack it out. We blind taste test our cans vs bottles regularly and are proud of the quality packaging of both. So if you're going somewhere that bottles aren't welcome, please try our Epic IPA and Golden Trout Pilsner in aluminum cans. If you find yourself in Mammoth Lakes during the first weekend in August, be sure to join us for the Mammoth Festival of Beers & Bluesapalooza. Mammoth Brewing Company is proud to host this 3-day event that benefits the California Craft Brewers Association and features over 60 of the best microbreweries in the country.
